The Campus Crusade band has undergone several changes in the four years that Chris Taulborg, the web site's creator, has seen in his time. In his very first semester of college, Chris made it a mission to create a resource for the band to download music and come prepared to practice.
The old system of one leader e-mailing all the songs or sometimes not bringing songs until practice had become outdated and was in short, unacceptable. Since that time, the website has undergone multiple facelifts, in addition to enhanced functionality. In 2003, the band was made up of six members: Lindsey, Chris, Mark, Karen, Nikki, and Dale (who lead the band). This was the start of something that Chris wanted to, and in fact did continue throughout the rest of his college tenure.
The band's size and talent grew considerably in the Spring and Fall of 2004. Members now included Mitch Smith, Lynnea Golding, Judd Eder, Jon Yuska, Chris Taulborg, Macala Rush, and Karen Brehm. The band at this time was co-lead by Chris and Karen. This band's first "break out" performance was at the 2004 Fall Getaway held by Campus Crusade.
In 2005, the band's size was brought down to five members: Dan Hopper, Mike Dean, Andy Gionnette, Mitch Smith, and Chris Taulborg. This band was the first band in Chris's four years that had finally achieved the style he was looking for -- a cutting edge, modern, and contemporary style that could be relatable to not only the Christian audiences, but also to the secular one.
Finally, through the 2006 band, Chris had finally made his passion a reality. The talent level of the band had finally peaked, and not only was the music top notch, but the band was accepted to play in the 2006 "Big Break" in Panama City Beach, Florida. Playing for a crowd of over a thousand worshippers, this band finally felt that its purpose had come to fruition. The band members in this year included Chris Taulborg, Mike Dean, Andy Gionnette, Mitch Smith, Megan Custer, and Mike Scanlon.
